White space all around.

My husband, children, and I had just moved into a new place. I had lots of framed images ready and waiting, and while a few of the old and beloved perennial pieces went up, most of the art didn’t resonate with our new rooms. Where were the trends I had followed and all the images I had coveted and amassed on seemingly innumerable Pinterest boards?

As the owner of a small design boutique, I had spent the past fifteen years designing and art-directing visual communications for art institutions, galleries, paper products manufacturers, and luxury goods retailers. I had built a career on resolving white space! How was it defeating me in my own home?

My walls needed colors and forms that played nicely with the paint hues and furnishings in my family’s new space. For a lot of reasons, I found that I couldn’t really settle on anything available in the marketplace.

I started Verso Prints to share my solution for challenging white spaces with fun and eclectic prints that take inspiration from interior design and color trends—but that allow for almost infinite client customization. No two walls are the same, after all. Seeing how clients pair and group and suggest new colorways for their own interiors has been the most fun so far in this journey.
